Mid 19th century Swedish hand painted dome top trunk
About the Item
Mid 19th century Swedish hand painted dome top trunk circa 1854.
Beautifully decorated coffer in it's original paint. Initialed on the front a g l d and dated 1854, further decorated with hand painted leaves with a green and blue base colour. Top opens to reveal a plain interior for storage with a single shelf.
Original hinges and metalwork, lock has been removed but will be supplied with the chest.
Expected losses to paintwork and wood work, with age splits, but structurally sound. Evidence of dead inactive treated worm.
