Vintage Camphor Wood Coffer/Chest With Interior Lift Out Storage Tray
About the Item
A lovely vintage mid-century coffer/blanket chest made of camphor wood. The exterior is varnished while the interior remains in a natural state. An attractive piece with dental molding details under a hinged lid. The front of the chest is simply carved and decorated with a carved central bullseye. The back of the piece is handsomely presented with two rectangular panels, allowing the piece to be floated in a space.
The lid opens to reveal a clean spacious camphor lined interior. The chest benefits from an internal camphor lift-out sliding divider shelf with finger holes for ease of lifting.
The chest sits on curved legs with carved circular accents on both the facing and interior wood. The legs terminate in a base supported by a single stretcher with carved cutouts.

Condition:
Good. The exterior and interior are in good clean condition. There is evidence of sun fade on the top and front of the cabinet. There is also a small darker area on the lid. The interior tray is missing a piece of wood on the underside that does not affect the function of the tray. See photographs.
