About the Item

Dutch Mid-Century Modern wall unit in teak veneer and black lacquered wooden uprights by WéBé (Holland) and designed by Louis Van Teeffelen in the 1950s. Brand present and in excellent condition. This modular wall unit is equipped with a rare and large desk - storage element, which contains two doors with two extra shelving spaces inside, a drop down desk table top with two smaller drawers inside and two larger drawers at the outside. Furthermore this system has a cabinet with two glass doors, a deep shelf of 32 cm with drawers and one without and two shelves of 22 cm depth. The elements can be placed on any suitable height with the brass up-hangings. The wall mounting plates for the uprights are also included in this set. The system is in very good condition, light patina on the teak and the uprights as shown on photos. Two furniture-making families who joined forces in 1938 and founded WéBé in Beneden Leeuwen (the Netherlands). With Louis Van Teeffelen joining them as designer in the 1950s, WéBé produced more Scandinavian inspired furniture, with organic lines and lighter, more transparent designs. One of the more iconic and detailed designs are these modular wall systems with the black uprights and the brass up-hangings.
