Derk Jan de Vries Modular 'Samara' Wall Unit in Ash and Cane

About the Item

Derk Jan de Vries for Maisa di Seveso, 'Samara' modular sideboard, Milan, Italy, 1970s Dutch designer Derk Jan de Vries conceived the Samara series back in the seventies for the Milanese company Maisa di Seveso. This playful wall unit consists of multiple compartments each configured into a distinctive design. The units are divided into closed accompanied with plain, cane, or glass doorpanels, furnished with either shelves or drawers. The open compartments have an additional shelf or open space. Each block is meticulously crafted featuring well-defined contours with beveled edges and distinct round handles. The warm-toned hue of the ash and the implementation of the cane lend it a sincere and natural appearance. With regard to its modular concept, the user is allowed to create various whimsical compositions. Kindly take note that this item is in good, used condition with signs of age and use, including imperfections along the edges and overall wear.
