Vintage Danish Modular Teak Wall Unit by Poul Cadovius for Cado, 1960s. Mid-Century Modern 5 bay shelving system model Cado. This is a original vintage floating bookcase designed by Danish architect Poul Cadovius. Cadovius had the revolutionary idea to design a floating, modular shelving system that would maximize floor space and signify the end of conformity in shelving. He first designed the model Royal with brass shelf brackets and a few years later the model Cado with wooden shelf brackets. He also named the company Cado. Versatile and flexible floating bookcase that allows for continuous rearranging to suit individual needs. Cabinets and shelves can be placed as desired. This original Cado System is suitable for both living room, home office or library. The cabinet with the drop down door can also function as a secretary desk, and the large shelf can also be used as a desk leaf. Drawer section has three wide drawers, all slides easily. A rare addition to this unit is the two open modules, one for storing albums/records and one with backing in four different colors. All elements can be moved around as desired with the use of tools. This set consists of: 5 Uprights, length 203 cm 1 Upright, length 157.5 cm 1 Chest of drawers, three drawers: 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm 1 Cabinet with sliding doors and 1 adjustable shelf, 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm 1 Open album/record rack, 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm 1 Cabinet with drop down door with four small drawers, 38 x 80 x 42.5 cm 1 Display cabinet with double glass sliding doors, 22 x 80 x 56 cm 1 Harlequin cabinet...
