About the Item
Mortise is a low-rise bookshelf conceived for elegant and flexible storage, capable of extending up to 9' ft wide thanks to a smart modular design that can be packed flat. The piece features a German demountable locking system that makes it collapsible yet stable.
The bookshelf is available in three color options made exclusively for JUNTOS: a light green called Lichen, a dark blue called Tide and a deep purple called Tinto. All color wood stains are finished with a HAPS free lacquer.
The piece is manufactured in Lewiston, Maine using hard maple sustainably sourced from the North East of the United States.

JUNTOS is a design studio that creates furniture and objects made to bring people together. Each piece is designed to hold space for self-expression, relaxation and play, enriching the spirit of the place we call home. Every design is developed in collaboration with highly-skilled craftspeople using premium natural materials sourced as locally as possible.
A project born from a desire to blend contrasting aesthetic sensibilities in art and design, JUNTOS borrows its name from the Spanish word for together. Our co-founders, María Daniela Huiza and Abraham Bendheim, are both collaborators and life partners who conceive the design process as a creative dialogue and the home as the physical manifestation of our personal ecology.
