About the Item

Vintage Danish teak modular wall unit by HG Furniture 1960s. Scandinavian modern 3-bay shelving system by Danish architects Rud Thygesen og Johnny Sørensen manufactured by HG Furniture (Hansen & Guldborg) Denmark. This system is modular so cabinets and shelves can be placed as desired. Very light visual impression, but ample storage space. Beautiful teak veneer with expressive grain pattern in warm and rich golden brown. Interior lined with light oak veneer. Excellent craftsmanship and quality, built to last for generations. Great details as dovetail joints and signature "Eyelid" pulls in solid teak. This system came on the market a bit later than Poul Cadovius and Kai Kristiansen, but the quality is at least comparable to the others. This system consists of the following elements: 2 Uprights, length 210 cm 2 Uprights, length 135.5 cm 1 Cabinet with sliding doors and four shelves, 40 x 89.5 x 50 cm 1 Dresser with five drawers, 40 x 89.5 x 50 cm 1 Console with two drawers, 30 x 89.5 x 13.5 cm 1 Glass cabinet/showcase, 30 x 89.5 x 40 cm 1 Desk with two drawers, 50 x 89.5 cm 3 Shelves, depth 22 cm Marked with "Danish Furnituremakers Control", "HG-FURNITURE", "made in Denmark" Very good original condition. Light patina consistent with age and use. Only a few small chips and scratches. Drawers and doors slides easily. Cleaned and polished. Ready for use.
