19th Century French Empire Walnut Buffet/Sideboard
About the Item
A Good French Empire Buffet or Sideboard in Walnut c.1820.
Of restrained form, this buffet incorporates three drawers, the central one very narrow, in the frieze above a pair of well constructed panelled cupboard doors, enclosing single shelves. Standing on flattened square feet and with columnar side supports with finely cast ormolu capitals. Plenty of storage space. Today it is equally suitable in a range of different rooms where a piece of case furniture is required, the mellow walnut colour being very desirable and attractive with a good choice of walnut timber.
