19th Century Renaissance Style Belgian Buffet À Deux Corps or Cabinet

About the Item

A 19th century buffet à deux corps from Belgian. Made of solid oak in two parts, the top has arched glass paned doors and opens to four removable shelves and the bottom opens to two shelves. Shelves can be adjusted. Massive architectural style chapeau de gendarme crown with carved decorative element at the peak. Bottom cabinet has hand-carved Renaissance style decoration with cornucopia, ribbons and festoons. Original cast brass escutcheons with portrait medallions. Working locks with two keys, top lock replaced. Waxed patina. This large, deep cabinet has angled corners and provides ample storage. Perfect for the display of plates and serving platters. Shelves are spaced 8" apart as shown, but may be removed to display larger items. This antique retains in good condition with minor restorations. Overall dimensions: 91"H x 24.5"D x 50.5"W (55.5" W at crown) Top Cabinet: 56" H Bottom: 35.5" H Please refer to photos for more details. Pictures are part of the description.
