A rare and exquisite French Art Deco sideboard or cabinet in polished brass from the estate of Andy Warhol. Brass feet support a central console featuring a pair of reeded, curve-handled doors. Solid, high-quality construction throughout. A central panel cast featuring mercury in profile adorns the piece. Two separate single-piece black marble shelves rest on its top, offering ample space for presentation, which are supported by fluted-detail brass supports. This piece is in excellent condition. This monumental piece was featured in Andy Warhol's estate auction by Sotheby's on April 23rd, 1988. It comes with a copy of the original catalog of the auction, along with an official seal from Warhol's estate. Andy was a huge Art Deco collector and lover and this piece is certainly a representation of his appreciation for the movement. This is arguably single most impressive case piece from his private collection and we are pleased to offer a piece of documented history to the public.
