English 19th Century Neoclassical Style Deux Corps Buffet

About the Item

A sensational English 19th century Neo Classical st. rosewood, satinwood, giltwood, ormolu and Black Antico marble, Deux Corps buffet. The buffet is raised by handsome giltwood paw feet below the four doors which each retain their original fitted glass panes with elegant pleated silk curtains. The doors display a striking rosewood border with a fine ormolu filet and ormolu keyhole. Flanking the doors are striking eternal flames with opened wings and superb palmettes. The straight frieze displays scrolled giltwood palmette reserves flanking central rosettes, pierced palmettes and a mottled giltwood band. Above is the original hutch with elegant scrolled supports, fine beaded ormolu bands, rosettes and central shelves. The central shelf displays two doors which also display the same beautiful upholstered inside and open to showcase an additional two shelves. The doors are flanked by lovely turned style foliate ormolu supports. Above the hutch is a striking and most decorative curved and tied ribbon top gallery.
