About the Item
A Fine French 19th-20th Century Louis XV Style Mahogany, Satinwood and Tulipwood Marquetry Gilt-Bronze Mounted Two-Door Buffet Server China Cabinet with marble top. The slender and tall twin-door cabinet with rounded sides, ormolu trim-mounts with wreaths, urns and flowers, the marquetry decorated doors depicting floral urns, fitted with a Brêche Violette marble top, attributed to Maison Forest, Paris. The lockplate stamped 'Duvivier/77, St. Antoine/Paris. Circa: Paris, 1900.
Le Maison Forest was established at in Paris at 14 rue Pierre-Picard in 1883 and also at 31 rue Cambacéres. The firm was renown for their production of high quality furnishings inspired by models of period French Master ébénistes in the Louis XIV, XV and XVI styles as well as Empire style with fine gilt-bronze mounts, parquetry and marquetry.

Overall condition is very good having been previously refinished, minor use wear. Minor touch ups and minor lacquer aged Craquelure. Fine bronze chasing and 2 interior shelves.
