French Empire style mahogany buffet with white marble top, three drawers and three cabinets by the French manufacturer Mercier Freres. The giltbronze mounts are exquisite. Currently missing shelves, but these will be made. There is a groove cut in the back of the marble to accommodate a mirror, which is now gone. The groove could probably be filled if a it were a problem, but it is not readily apparent when the buffet is placed against a wall with decorative items situated on the marble.
