French Late 18th Century Burl Walnut Buffet
About the Item
A beautiful solid walnut buffet, made in France circa 1790. The case antique is made with Provincial charm and style with burl walnut panels set into the shapely carved doors. These doors are hung with steel barrel hinges and can be secured with its working lock and single key. Cut steel escutcheons grace the door fronts and surround the keyhole. Rounded front corners sport carved details and conclude in short cabriole feet which are united by a shaped skirt. The interior is outfitted with a single fixed shelf.
