Mid-Century French Louis XIV Carved Walnut Two-Door "Buffet de Chasse"
Located in Dallas, TX
Decorate an entry or a living room with this elegant buffet. Crafted in France circa 1970, and built of walnut, the cabinet stands on a thick plinth base. The piece features two arched paneled doors decorated with carved floral motifs in the corners, and flanked with small rectangular doors on both sides with decorative double hinges. Opening the side doors and center double doors of the cabinet, it reveals a light blue painted interior with two shelves for ultimate storage. The top with rounded corners is also built of walnut over two small frieze cutlery drawers dressed with iron pulls, and embellished with carved geometric decor. The narrow Louis XIV style buffet is in excellent condition and adorns a rich walnut patina. Versatile, it could also be used in a hallway, a bedroom, or converted into a vanity cabinet with the addition of a sink. During kings Louis XIV and Louis XV reigns (17th and 18th centuries), the "Buffet de Chasse" became popular in French hunting lodges...

Vintage French Louis XVI Style Buffet with Marble Top in an Ebonized Finish
Located in Chicago, IL
Vintage French Louis XVI style Buffet, that our Old Plank restoration department completely stripped down to the bare mahogany and after a few days of hand-sanding, started the laborious task of applying an old school Ebonized finish to the wood. All of the brass components to our Louis XVI Ebonized Buffet were removed, cleaned and reattached after the Ebonizing process. The unusual color marble was carefully cleaned, however, we prefer not sending them out for polishing, since that changes the Ebonized Buffet from looking vintage, to looking like something new. All of the drawers work as they should and the keys for the original locks are still with the French Louis Style Buffet...
