Oak Cabinet by René Gabriel, France, Late 1940s

About the Item

Rare cabinet by french designer René Gabriel. Solid oakwood and oak veneer. The cabinet features 6 drawers on the lower part and 2 doors on the top part with functional keys and locks. circa 1948-1950. Top and bottom can be separated. Similar model as the one made to furnish the apartments in Le Havre during the Reconstruction in 1947. Literature: Apartment Le Havre, 1947, « René Gabriel » Pierre Gencey, Ed Norma, page 274.
