Leading us each leg presents with opulent gold and silver gilding over richly carved acanthus leaf and fine foliate patterns. Above is the lavishly decorated architectural castle inspired single door cabinet, with inset gem pull and felt lined interior; fitted within decorative running ornamentation and sculptural mottled giltwood border three Jacob Petite attributed Paris porcelain panels adorn the sides and back, each panel exquisitely hand painted in polychome floral motif, affixed by richly chased patinated bronze and silver corinthian columns with rosette accents, flanking the elaborately sculpted scrolled apron, the case with extensive decadent gilding combined with intricate delicate carvings, surmounted by four gilt artichoke finials. Superb attention to detail, finest quality materials and superior craftsmanship, all second to none. Majestic, sophisticated and luxurious presence. Dimensions (approx): 48" Tall x 14.5" Wide x 13" Deep Martin Carlin (b.1730–1785) was a Parisian ébéniste (cabinet-maker), born at Freiburg, who was received as Master Ébéniste at Paris on 30 July 1766. Renowned for his "graceful furniture mounted with Sèvres porcelain", Carlin fed into the luxury market of eighteenth-century decorative arts, where porcelain-fitted furniture was considered among "the most exquisite furnishings" within the transitional and neoclassical styles. Carlin's furniture was popular amongst the main great dealers, including Poirier, Daguerre, and Darnault, who sold his furniture to Marie Antoinette and many amongst the social elite class.
