The doors carry simple patterns made using the Wood TailoringTM technique. Blue thread is applied stained black finish. Materials: Sideboard in stained black. Dimensions: D 180 cm x W 39 cm x H 67 cm D 71 in x W 15.3 in x H 26.3 in About the designers: Fredrik Färg and Emma Marga Blanche are a young couple of designers (with Swedish and French origins respectively) who sum up personality, technique and innovation. They have been developing a technique for various years in their Stockholm based studio, bapitising and registering it as Wood TailoringTM, which includes the use of sewing machines directly over hard materials like wood. The created patterns carry an aesthetic value and offer surprising and suggestive results much the same as the Couture armchair. Using the same technique which requires much artisanal ability, Färg & Blanche have also launched a very functional cabinet with simple decorations. Armchair designed by Färg & Blanche. Manufactured by BD Barcelona in Spain. The Couture Armchair is a fusion of artisanal and industrial techniques. The stitches represent a topographic map resulting in an organic pattern, simulating the growth in wood. The use of gradient colours for the wood, amplifies the effect of layers used and increases the sensation of unifying hard materials. The result is an armchair with strong personality which holds maximum evidence of artisanal processes. Materials and finishes: Seat structure in solid wood and upholstered. Backrest in varnished walnut or degraded birch made up of pieces sewn together with polyamide thread. Upholstered in BD’s different materials. Includes in swivel system.
