Dutch Liquid Cabinet

About the Item

A uniquely, floating sideboard with a hidden glass cabinet. Nature is the starting point when making this piece of furniture. The natural shape of untouched oak planks, where the sideboard follows the natural shape of the planks, is finished with ultra-modern plaster in a robust clay color. The oak is a primeval tree, symbolizing wisdom, strength, and sustainability, a tree cherished for its longevity and the yield of its fruits. But also a symbol of hospitality. The tree was the central focal point for meetings of dignitaries, a prominent place to meet and to reach an agreement while enjoying a good drink. Jenever, for example, is a Dutch invention from the 17th century. It is these aspects that come together in this piece of furniture. Contents and the closure of the sideboard remain hidden in a refined manner. The beautifully lacquered interior has removable parts that allow taller bottles to be placed in the drawers and opened independently with the top deck.
