You don't enjoy the seven or seventy-seven wonders of a city, but the answer it gives to your question. " I loved Italo Calvino's “The Invisible Cities” very much. This book contains the idea that guides much of my work: there is a place of the soul where a model of space is jealously preserved, even an aesthetic one, an ideal yardstick, the Invisible City, the inner city that we keep inside. , where the ideal models with which we compare the places and elements we encounter on the path of our existence are elaborated and built. This is why some places and some spaces often seem familiar or beautiful to us, without reason, perhaps only because they respond to the aesthetic and functional canons idealized in that model, our invisible city. This is why I used to describe this thought the gold leaf to cover the external surfaces, using the artisan techniques of gilding. Above all, it wants to be an optimistic way of looking at the interiority of man. Inside the house I left the raw material, sincere, without sophistication, a fir usually used for practical constructions. Everything is supported by a natural branch, collected in the woods in front of the house, on the hills of Franciacorta, an area of ??wine culture and with a silent, sweet, sometimes severe nature. Anyone who knows my work knows that it is often aimed at investigating human feelings and passions, but also and above all the places of the soul where these feelings are created. The materials I used are a natural ash branch, fir plywood, gold leaf. The Invisible Cities are completely handcrafted by me, by hand, starting from the raw materials, up to the gilding that I do personally. I learned the technique many years ago, at the Bovolone art furniture school, where extraordinary artists taught above all the passion for beauty and then the ancient craft techniques of building and decorating art furniture.
