Italian 19th Century Milanese St. Ebony and Bone Cabinet Vitrine
About the Item
A stunning and large scale Italian 19th century Milanese st. ebony and bone cabinet vitrine. The impressive four door vitrine is raised by fine bun feet below the straight frieze with an elegant mottled band. The base displays two doors decorated with beautiful and intricately detailed scrolled foliate inlaid bone designs and which open to reveal all the original hardware. The two upper doors retain their original glass panes framed within an ebony border decorated with lovely bone inlaid foliate designs and fine fillets. The doors open to also reveal their original hardware and two adjustable glass shelves. Exceptional architectural columns extend up each side decorated with spectacular richly detailed inlays of open winged birds, charming cherubs standing and swinging on a swing, beautiful maidens, and dragons amidst lovely foliate movements. The sides also retain their original glass panes framed within fine diamond shaped inlays and fillets. The striking top crown is decorated with additional exquisite inlays and displays an impressive scrolled and elegantly curved central reserve flanked by charming topie shaped finials at each side.
