Kai Winding Small Rosewood Sideboard

About the Item

Rosewood sideboard designed by Kai Winding, produced by Poul Jeppesens Møbelfabrik. The piece has 2 inside drawers with an opening, very suitable for high end stereo equipment storage. Marked with label. Kaj Winding is best known for his iconic Trienna chair, first presented at the Brussels World Fair in 1958. This bentwood and leather chair, with its sleek, elegant design, quickly became a classic of Danish design. In addition to the Trienna, Kaj Winding designed other furniture for Design-Craftsmen, as well as lighting fixtures for Louis Poulsen. He also worked as a graphic designer for the Danish ceramics company Bing & Grøndahl. Sadly, Kaj Winding died prematurely in 1965, leaving behind a short but influential body of work in the world of Danish and Scandinavian design. Today, his creations are considered emblematic examples of modern Danish design.
