Large Javanese Cabinet with Paneled Glass Doors, Bonnet Top and Cabriole Legs

About the Item

A large Dutch Colonial cabinet from Java with bonnet top, double glass doors and sides. Created in Java during the early 20th century, this large cabinet features an exquisite bonnet top, sitting above a pair of double doors with paneled glass and studs that add a robust aspect to the ensemble. The side panels, also made of glass, allow the decorative objects displayed on the inside to be seen from all angles. The doors open thanks to two ring pulls, to reveal three inner shelves offering great storage opportunities. The lower section is made of two drawers, each decorated with raised panels, sitting on four cabriole legs resting on trifid lion paw feet. The skirt, scalloped on three sides, is adorned with a central shell and connects the legs to one another. With its delicate Dutch Colonial lines and appealing glass doors, this Javanese cabinet will bring a graceful presence to any home, whether placed in a living room or dining room.
