A pair of bedside cabinets in Mappa Burr (Poplar) with bronze handles.
Internally there is a single adjustable shelf. The doors are held closed by earth magnets and have traditional bronze pull handles, so no clicky catches, just silence when you open and close the cabinet. The book-matched Mappa burr veneered doors are hung on pivot hinges which allow the doors to be opened fully but also have a slight resistance to hold the doors in their open positions.
Bespoke sizes can be commissioned and also using different timbers.

Jonathan Field
Jonathan’s work has been shown at various exhibitions and shows in the UK and Abroad and by his gallery Connaught Brown of London. Jonathan is a member of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. He was delighted to be awarded a bespoke guild mark award for an edition of ten chairs in rippled ash completed in 2017. “Much of my inspiration comes from the patterns, shapes and textures found in nature, from the micro to full-scale aerial and landscape views, simple flowing lines and visual-tactile details of the wood are framed within each design. Using wood predominantly from the UK, that has a history and a beauty entirely unique to each piece, the distinctive aspects of the timber are often a starting point when considering a project for a client, the selection of the materials, the detail and love of the making process are all carried through within each piece.
All of Field’s furniture pieces are designed and made to order from his workshop in East London. To commission a bespoke version, please contact him to discuss your project.
