Pair of cabinets, by Guido Faleschini, Italy, circa 1970
About the Item
Pair of high-back cabinets by Guido Faleschini for Hermès, Italy, 1970.
The structures are in wood, upholstered with black felt on the inside and black velvet felt on the outside (including the back) and on both sides of the doors.
They open to two wooden doors sheathed on each side, adorned with two polished cast-aluminum rings, held in place by two thick tan leather straps.
The top shelves are in St Anne grey-black marble, edged on the front and back with a chrome-plated metal band.
The base is also protected by a chrome-plated metal plinth, as are the top and bottom edges of the doors.
The sophisticated hinges are in polished aluminum.
Biography
