Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Black Lacquer Cabinets with Hand Painted Motifs

About the Item

A pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty period black lacquer display cabinets from the 19th century, with hand-painted décor depicting court scenes. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, each of this pair of display cabinets features an open shelf in the upper section, adorned with painted motifs on the lower rail, sitting above a pair of double doors. The lower part of each cabinet attracts our attention with its hand-painted court scenes, presenting characters occupied in various activities with traditional structures in the background. The lighter tones of the hand-painted scenes, highlighted with red accents, stand out beautifully on the cabinets' black lacquer. Fitted with brass medallion hardware and teardrop pulls, the doors open to reveal two inner shelves offering great storage opportunities. Creating a perfect visual conclusion, the cabinets' skirts are painted with motifs. We review all of our pieces and address issues we may find before they leave for your home; however, these are antique pieces, and as such they will keep their character and some imperfections, which is the quintessence of antique and vintage furniture. With their clean lines, delicate décor and lovely patina, these Chinese Qing Dynasty period 19th century display cabinets will bring an exotic touch to any living room.
