Rare Regency Penwork Collectors Cabinet on Stand, Chinoiserie
About the Item
This is a rare period English collector's cabinet, circa 1800, in lacquer, with Penwork figural decoration. The double doors open to reveal fifteen fitted drawers with original pink lining interiors. Stunning detail and gorgeous patina throughout. Each drawer with intricate Chinoiserie scenes of figures in gardens, with further decoration covering all other surfaces of the cabinet. Petite brass knobs on every drawer.
The piece is structurally sound, with minor cracks and wear commensurate with age.
Some losses to the inner edges of the base, not visible when the cabinet is placed on the base. Please see photos.
The intricate detailing on this cabinet make it a truly rare find.
