Rustic Home Made Oak Mirrored Hanging Cupboard, circa 1890
About the Item
Antique Rustic Home Made Oak Mirrored Hanging Cupboard, circa 1890, from Quebec or northern Vermont, a lovely cabinet with a number of mirror panels set on the door and sides. A home-built farmhouse piece, crude and charming, and very unusual.
The cabinet is in strong and sturdy condition, with some stains and erosion to the wood. The mirrored panels variously show some loss to backing, and all the panels may not be of the same age. There is a notch cut in the rear corner of the top board, likely original to the piece and made to accommodate molding or some other architectural feature in the original home. Pretty much what one would expect in a farmhouse piece.
