Exceptional, remarkable 18th century marquetry chest of drawers out of Italy, more precisely the Lombardy. Artfully crafted around 1780 with highest attention to details, this masterpiece of mid 18th century Italian craftsmanship is attributed to the school of the world famous cabinetmaker Giuseppe Maggiolini (1738 - 1814). The time-consuming restoration of this masterpiece took us more than 7 weeks and has been done by our most experienced master of restoration. The ultimate goal was to restore it the old way and preserve the unbelievable charm of this valuable 18th century dresser. With an age of more than 240 years, this rare Italian chest of drawers comes with a straight shaped body made of spruce and poplar, elaborately set nutwood, cherry and maple veneer works and incredible marquetry all over this unique commode. Providing three drawers - whereby the top drawer is a little narrower - this outstanding 18th century dresser is adorned by an amazing looking, inlayed depicition of an antique soldier with his wife and his child surrounded by extensively designed round frames made of maple and ebonized fruitwood. The large depiction on the front runs over two drawers. Also a great highlight is the chest´s top plate impressing with another fantastic round double frame work by showing a depcition of two women within floral patterns in the center. Different sized frames, all made of different kind of woods like cherry, maple and (ebonized) fruitwood complete the extraordinary appearance of this neoclassical masterpiece. An incredibly crafted, one of a kind 18th century Italian chest of drawers - not only a precious item of rare Italian antique furniture, much more it is also a smart investment for the future.

Providing two large drawers, this outstanding 18th century dresser is adorned by fantastic looking, inlayed depicitions of women surrounded by extensively designed round frames made of maple, nut and plum wood. The largest depiction on the front even runs over both drawers. The top plate is an absolute highlight, impressing with this amazing worked 3D-effect frame made of fine ebony, maple and plum wood which looks like a spiral. The same design has also been used on the front of this precious chest of drawers. The second frame with a slight green shine has been additionally surrounded by thin maple threads. Other exceptional 3D effect maple inlays in form of chain links can be found on both sides of the front pilasters. This exceptional "chain" effect is reinforced by so-called "Schwarlot" paintings - a technique which confers it this special depth. A fantastic late 18th century chest of drawers showing an extraordinary design combining straight lines with soft curved shapes. The fine nut wood veneered surface with beautiful grain confers this amazing looking chest of drawers a real special appearance. This over 250 years old antique dresser was part of the inventory of an old chapel and impresses with its roots maple sections, whereby each field has been additionally framed by delicate inlayed ebonized fruitwood. Adorned by lovely brass fittings, the three artfully designed, cambered drawers can be locked separately with the still original so-called "snap locks" and offer a lot of storage space (the original key is included).
