18th Century Italian Burl Marquetry Commode Bolognese Louis XV Chest of Drawers
About the Item
Italian 18th century Louis XV two-drawer commode from Bologna, Emilia Romagna Northern region, a stunning burr walnut and thuya marquetry chest of drawers realized in Italy in the second half of 18th century, in good condition.
Two drawers, front, sides and top a finely throughout decorated with veneered burl thuya and walnut, boxwood, ebony and fruit wood inlays on cabriolet legs.This is a very striking piece that would make a statement in any room.
It comes from a private collection of Milan and showed signs and wear of previous use, losses and minor detachments of veneer, see last listed pictures previous restoration, that's why we decided to start a conservative restoration of this antique chest of drawer. The new polish enhances this wonderful marquetry.
