18th Century Queen Anne Highboy
About the Item
Hand-crafted Queen Anne highboy, circa 1720s. New England. The chest consists of 2 sections made from a lovely combination of cherry and walnut wood. The upper half has 5 full length drawers, while the lower half has 3 small drawers. Each is equipped with brass pulls. The upper drawers have keyhole plates. We love the harmony of the upper chest's smooth, straight lines and the lower section's curved forms, particularly the shaped skirt and cabriole legs. The interior of the upper drawers are newly lined with wallcovering from Brunschwig & Fils.
