19th Century French Louis XV Style Marquetry and Ormolu Bombe Chest of Drawers

About the Item

A very fine example of French 19th century Louis XV style Bombe two drawer chest commode. The oak carcass is veneered in kingwood and amaranth and inlaid with floral designs on the front. There is a inlaid radiating pattern of kingwood framed in amaranth on both sides of the chest. There are two long drawers below a shaped bresch d'alep marble top; the front of the chest is lavishly covered in fine 'rococo' style gilded bronze mounts including the drawer handles and the sabots on the curved front legs.
