19th Century Scottish Mahogany Chest Of Drawers
About the Item
A particularly handsome Flame Mahogany Chest from Scotland. The chest has sejven drawers in total one large top Central drawer with no pull and the uppermost drawer appearing to be moulding. When the large drawer below is pulled out, reaching in and pressing a secret latch releases the moulding drawer, a true secret drawer. All of the drawers have fine dove-tail construction and elegant turned knobs with Mother-of-Pearl center caps with compass type decorative incising. The drawer fronts are in flame mahogany and the case has two front pillar supports
Dimensions: The Chest measures 50.5” wide by 23.75” deep by 47” high. .
Condition: Please see detail photos. There are various signs of age including some missing areas of veneer, cracks to drawer bottom boards, stable age cracks, some spots and scratches to the top and an inset repair ( Clearly seen in photos) all mentioned for accuracy as the presentation remains striking, authentic and very stately.
