Antique French Louis XV Bombe Marble Top Parquet Commode

About the Item

Antique French Louis XV Bombe Marble Top Parquet Commode was designed to be the essence of understated elegance. Utilizing fine imported mahogany, the artisans created a bombe form with serpentine sides and adorned the entire facade with checkerboard parquet orienting the grain patterns of the blocks perpendicular with each other, creating a splendid visual effect. The casework includes a contoured apron which is enhanced in the front by a luxurious bronze mount, complementing the mounts on the shoulders and feet of the front legs as well as the elaborately styled drawer pulls and key guards. The graceful form of the casework contains two full width drawers for lots of storage, while the top is covered with a finely contoured and beveled marble in multiple gray and white tones for a carefree, neutral surface.
