Art Deco Style Blue Crystal Italian Commode, Chest of Drawers
About the Item
Outstanding pair of chests of drawers made by hand with Italian blue glass plates. Exclusive geometric design, based on triangular shapes and their tangents, which seem to form the silhouette of a diamond on the front. Each chest of drawers is made up of two large-capacity registers with asymmetric handles. The lower handle is an equilateral triangle, element or central point of the entire projected ornament. These tangential lines arranged on the front and on the top of the furniture are created with a mirror. The edges of the furniture are metallic, silver in colour, as are the openwork legs and the previously mentioned mirrors. The result is a highly refined pairing of colours -blue and silver-. This type of furniture recalls the Art Deco designs of the first quarter of the 20th century. Handwork by international artist, signed and dated.
It,s comes from a private Italian collection

In the upper part of the furniture there is a shiny black glass that brings light and shine to everything that rests on it. About the Art Deco style Art Déco, short for the French term Arts Décoratifs, and sometimes simply called Déco, is a style of visual arts, architecture, and product design, which first appeared in France in the 1910s (just before World War I). and flourished in the United States especially, but also in Europe, during the 1920s and 1930s. Art Deco combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and rich materials. During its heyday, it represented luxury, glamour, exuberance and faith in social and technological progress. From its inception, Art Deco was influenced by the bold geometric shapes of Cubism and the Vienna Secession; the bright colors of Fauvism and the Russian ballets; the up-to-date craftsmanship of the furniture from the times of Louis XVI and Louis Philippe I; and the exotic styles of Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Persian, ancient Egyptian, and Mayan art...Category
