Elegant Antique Louis XV Painted Commode

About the Item

Stunning. A fabulous slightly-off-white painted Louis XV bureau. Two-over-three drawer configuration in the classic Rococo style, light and graceful. The curved front of the piece reflects the aesthetics of the period, in which furnishings were designed "for the comfort and glorification of beautiful women". The commode, with its unbroken curves, is typical of the times in which the prized look was romantic, sensuous and feminine. The original ornate bronze handles complete the look. A beautiful chest of drawers. Could be used anywhere in the home, from entry hall to the bedroom. Drawers slide easily. Paint has been refreshed.
