English Oak Chest
About the Item
This chest is crossbanded with a mahogany banded on the top and all drawer fronts. The top has heavy ogee molding skirtd with egg and dentil moilding on all three sides. The frieze has a repeating blind fretwork large and small diamond pattern which appears to be solid but is actually a secret drawer accessed by opening one of the two top drawers. The hardware is later.
