English Serpentine Small Chest, Circa 1920
About the Item
English serpentine side chest from mahogany, circa 1920. The top is banded in mahogany and has a central panel of flame mahogany with a beveled and serpentined edge, following down to a mahogany slide and four drawers, flanked by fluted quarter columns. The drawer fronts are banded as well as having beading around the edges. The sides of the chest are simple and have wonderfully rich graining and the case is supported o nicely detailed bracket feet.
