French 1820s Neoclassical Fruitwood Veneered Side Table with Diamond Motifs
About the Item
A petite French neoclassical fruitwood four-drawer commode from the early 19th century. This small size French commode from the 1820s features a three-quarter wooden gallery sitting atop four veneered drawers. These drawers are adorned with horizontal dark banded inlaid diamond patterns with oval escutcheons and ring pulls. The diamond motifs are echoed on the top and sides, creating a perfectly harmonious decor. The ensemble is raised on four slender cylindrical legs. The cute proportions, lovely patina and contrasting colors make this French neoclassical commode a perfect choice for any living room or bedroom, perhaps used as a bedside table or end table.
