French Pair Wooden Side Chests w/Marble Tops & Brass Accents, Mid 20th C.

An American wood-carved raised side chest with drawers, circa 1960's. This mid-century commode was created "from the work rooms and show rooms of Greenbaun Interiors" and is a very well made piece. It features a rectangular-shaped top with ebony inlay in the center and accenting the perimeter edges, atop a case which houses a pair of stacked drawers set between fluted side posts. The ebony trim continues on to the drawer fronts, outlining the panels, on diamond accents found along the skirt on either side, and wrapping the feet. This chest is presented on four squared legs, which taper gently towards their feet. This mid 20th century raised chest with two drawers will make a great end table for a seating arrangement, or small case piece...

A French near-pair of marble-top side chests with lower shelf, from the early 20th century. These antique commodes from France each feature a rectangular-shaped white marble top, surrounded with a raised brass gallery on three sides, atop a case which houses a pair of stacked dove-tailed drawers. The tables are raised nicely upon squared tapering legs, that terminate into peg feet. A lower self with elegant concaved front braces the legs at underside of the table. Please note that this is a near-pair of tables; their differences upon close inspection would be mismatched pulls on the lower drawer fronts, and the addition of brass trim outlining the drawer fronts and side panels on one table only. A French painted & carved wood raised chest with marble top from the early 20th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped white marble top with gray veining and pronounced rounded front corners, resting atop a case with rounded and fluted side posts which flank three graduated dovetailed drawers, with round bail-pull handles flanking the escutcheon at their centers. This commode is presented upon conical legs with fluted carvings metal feet. This piece has a pale blue finish, which still allows some of the natural wood grain to show through, and is accented with a gold accent trim. Please note that the original marble top has some slight stain/yellowing at it's top (see images for further details).
