Japanese Antique Black Storage Box 1800s-1860s / Drawer Tansu Wabisabi

About the Item

Very old storage box made in Japan. This furniture is from the Edo period (1800s-1860s). It is made of paulownia wood. It has been smoked black. The soot has piled up and made this beautiful appearance. This is what "Japanese black" means. The drawer is tasteful, rustic, simple and beautiful. There is no waste in the design. It is the ultimate in simplicity. The gnawed hole on the back is also a charm. It is recommended for displaying your favorite objects or as a night stand. A versatile item. Drawers move smoothly. The inside of the drawers have been cleaned and sanitized. This is a very valuable piece of furniture with an aesthetic of "Wabi-Sabi". It weighs 6.5 kg.
