Late 19th Century Louis XVI Style Fruitwood Marquetry 2-Drawer Commode
This glowing kidney shaped fruitwood Marquetry commode in the Louis XVI style is richly adorned with gilded bronze ornaments. The Fine veneer marquetry work is a feature on all sides. Slender and tapered legs flow from the ornamented apron and finish in gilded bronze sabots. The commode, with curved sides and corner bronzes opens in the front to 2 drawers with 4 gilded bronze wreath shaped pulls and 2 centered escutcheons. The marble top is finished in a brass rim gallery.
Marble top is repaired. Both original locks intact. No key.
Condition: Good. Wear due to age and use.
