About the Item

This majestic pair of commodes have undergone a meticulous complete restoration. The chests may be re-lacquered in another Ben Moore color in advance of shipment, if another color is desired. A stellar example from an incredibly rare series by John Stuart, circa 1940. Stunning double-bow front three drawer design executed in mahogany atop simple inset feet. Exquisite Lucite and brass hardware mark the chest. Exceptional design, material selection and craftsmanship. This breathtaking investment caliber case is among the first to incorporate the then new creation known as Lucite. A serious piece specifically intended to anchor an important space. Excellent Restored condition. The chest has undergone a complete and through professional restoration in heavy Cream lacquer. All hardware has been professionally cleaned and polished. The brass has beautiful patina and the chunky Lucite is clear. Also available from this rare series: a pair of nightstands, tall chest and vanity or desk. Retains the maker mark. For change of lacquer color, please add $1500.
