Pair of 19th Century French Commodes
About the Item
A fine pair of 19th century French commodes in the Louis XV style. Constructed in bookmatched kingwood veneers, inlaid with floral motifs, richly decorated with fine ormulo mounts, the original serpentine Breche d'Alep tops with a thumb moulded edge, above bombe bases with two long and two short drawers. The drawers framed within a foliate ormulo cartouche, conforming ormulo scrolled sabots and espagnolettes. Both commodes stamped "A. Monoury" (Alexander Monoury).
