About the Item
An exceptional Russian Empire fruitwood and ebonized 4 drawer chest/secretary. The top drawer conceals the drop-down desk featuring 6 drawers and a lapis lazuli, marble and brass plaque depicting a mythological scene. Locks are concealed under brass flaps. Brass also featured as outline on sides of cabinet. Ebonized legs. Original Carrara and black marble banded original butterflied marble top. Marble restored. Original key. Russia. Circa 1850.
