Yrjö Ilmari Tapiovaara was one of the most important Finnish designers and interior designers of the 20th century.He worked as an intern for Finmar, which markets Aalto furniture in England, which had a significant influence on his ideas about furniture design. Tapiovaaras design thinking represented pure functionalism. According to him, the intended use and structural concept of a product should be understood at first glance. Some of the best-known chairs include Domus, Aslak, Kiki and Nana. Chairs, tables and other objects designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara are still highly valued products around the world.
