Superb Circassian Walnut Bronze French Empire 1780s Era Commode Dresser
About the Item
This is a fantastic, absolutely breathtaking Circassian Walnut with incredible contrasts of blacks and browns that are remiscient of rosewood. The piece features bronze figural caryatids and are surmounted towards the middle of the sides rather than the more familiar placement on top of the sides. The piece is in original condition with signs of old repairs and use as to be expected with genuine antiques. This is a statement piece and absolutely gorgeous. Measures 24.5 deep x 50.5 wide x 33.5 tall. Dates to the 1780s. Signed what appears "Vulkerdane" on brass keyplates.
