A nice example of Italian "Lacca Povera" (or poor-man's lacquer) decoration on an early 19th century 3-drawer provincial commode, probably Piedmontese, with old brass hardware and faux marble painted top. The piece is exuberantly painted and decorated with decoupage figures of 18th century life.
