19th Century Louis XVI Carved and Painted Three-Drawer Commode Chest

About the Item

Use this elegant painted chest of drawers in an entry way or living room. Crafted in France, circa 1860, this cabinet sits on tapered and fluted feet, and features detailed carved decor including a round center medallion on each drawer, and spline columns on each end of the decorated apron. Both sides are embellished with carved raised panels, and the patinated painted top is decorated with recessed front corners. The cabinet is in excellent condition with a rich textured and rubbed paint finish in the off-white palette. Key included. This commode could also be used as a nightstand on either side of a king size bed. Measures: 39" W x 19.75" D x 33.5" H.
