Midcentury Cherrywood Italian Chest of Drawers, 1950
About the Item
Italian chest of drawers, from the mid-20th century. Peculiar shape, original and avant-garde for that time period. A very basic design, but by far an stylish dresser.
All veneered in cherrywood, with three drawers. The top is slightly recessed inside, with a frame that runs all the way around higher. Its shape recalls a trunk of inverted pyramid. The opening of the three drawers is allowed by a key placed at the centre of it. Finally the wood leg, polished in black lacquer, is flat and is positioned mirrored at the corner of the side of the commode body.
The commodes is in excellent condition, however it has been well restored in the wooden part. The restoration, like every piece of our shop, has been done respecting the original, maintaining its original state value. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in excellent condition. Very slight traces of use due to time.
